Buckle Up! A Special Message from Buckle Up Pennsylvania

Each year, traffic crashes needlessly claim the lives of hundreds of Pennsylvanians.  Every death strikes a devastating blow to a community and saddens the lives of people forever.  While we can’t prevent such crashes entirely, we know that the simple act of buckling up is the best defense for anyone involved.

Please talk with your friends and family about the importance of seat belt use.  Young adults especially need to hear this message, as they are the most likely to be involved in a crash.  On our part, we’re working to reach the 18 percent of Pennsylvanians who still don’t buckle up.  Our message to them is clear - Click It or Ticket: two tickets, two fines.

Working together, we can avert tragedies in Pennsylvania.  Please join us in this effort by making sure everyone in your vehicle buckles up every time.

CRASH RECONSTRUCTION TASK FORCE

Colebrookdale District Police joined with the Berks County District Attorney’s Office on March 1, 2010, participating in the Berks County Crash Reconstruction Task Force.  The Mission of this organization is to enhance investigative resources for fatal crash investigations throughout Berks County by providing the means and personnel for thorough fatal crash reconstructions.  These reconstructions involve scene and vehicle examinations, witness interviews; and the collection, preservation, packaging, transportation, documentation and scientific analysis of physical evidence left at a fatal crash scene. It is the objective of the Colebrookdale District Police Department to support the Berks County District Attorney’s Office by providing an experienced crash reconstruction investigator to assist with the critical and difficult task associated with fatal crash scene investigations.
